Panelists Bios:
Joann Guitarte is the Chief Executive Officer of J Peach Inc. In addition to her many businesses, she recently created and heads up the Donut Fun Run and Donut Festival in Alameda. She is a board member of the Alameda Chamber & Economic Alliance as well as the Biard Chair for 2024-2026. She is an entrepreneur who loves helping the community.Lisa Burke Whitescarver has been enjoying commercial real estate for nearly thirty years. She started out with a one-year Masters degree at the MIT business school (Sloan) and moved to San Francisco in 1995 to join Hines, an international real estate platform. She had the honor of becoming the first female equity partner for the company and learned all facets of the business in her 17 years with the company. Currently, she and her partner Erik Burke head up the west coast operation of North River Company, a regional real estate company with properties in nine states. She views real estate as a very community-based business and loves the notion of business people working together to improve cities. She lives in the Bay Area with her husband Allan, and their four kids live in New York, Boston, Washington DC, and San Francisco. She and Allan love backpacking, kayaking, history, and tending to their native plant garden.
Lindsay Barnez is President of the Oakland Roots and Oakland Soul. In soccer, she previously worked for the Washington Spirit, the National Women's Soccer League, and Real Salt Lake. She was a White House Fellow in the Office of Management and Budget during the Obama Administration. She has been a lawyer, entrepreneur, campaign manager, and union organizer. Lindsay is a graduate of Yale Law School and the University of Utah.
