Autonomous Vehicles: Driving Change
Description
There is both a certain inevitability and improbability associated with autonomous, self driving, cars. Vast sums of money are being directed at making this new technology the future. If and when they arrive, they bring with them an enormous number of economic policy issues. There is also the question of the extent to which government ought to intervene in their adoption. Some of the policy issues arise from the implications for:
* Employment in the economy
* Climate Change
* Urban planning
* Housing availability and development
* Local government finances
With regard to government’s influence in their adoption, most experts believe that there are Heaven and Hell versions of the world with autonomous vehicles.
Joins us for a conversation about autonomous vehicles and the dramatic change to our economic and social reality that they will bring.
