Description

This talk will walk back through 400+ years of economic policies, presenting evidence and a discussion of those that have been explicitly racist, those with racist intent, and those with lingering racist implications long after their removal.  These policies are largely responsible for the Black-White wealth gap that exists today.  There were, of course, many other policies and discriminatory actions that have contributed, but Federal government policy likely bears the bulk of the responsibility.  Revisiting these past policies can help shed light on what needs to change in the future to close the existing wealth gap.
